Since Kurisumudy is a place of spiritual awaking there are different liturgical services at Kurisumudy. There are Holy Mass, and Novena to St. Thomas at 9.30 AM on all days throughout the year.

The Malayattoor Convention:

His Eminence Mar Joseph Parekattii began the practice of Malayattoor convention in the year 1981, with the initiative of the then parish priest Rt. Rev. Mgr. Abraham J Karedan. The venue,is St.Thomas parish church malayattoor. The enthusiasm shown by the people to listen to the Word of God inspired the vicar and his successors to hold the convention every year. Prominent biblical scholars and preachers from Kerala and abroad speak at the convention. The pilgrims and the Christians from nearby parishes throng the convention pandal to listen to the Word of God.The convention is arranged four days before the palm sunday.

The Holy Week is observed with due reverence and with spiritual preparations. Elaborate arrangements are made for the “Vilapayathra” (the Good Friday procession) which attracts a huge number of pilgrims.





The commemoration of the martyrdom of St. Thomas is observed on July 3rd every year with great solemnity. The highlight of the day's celebrations is the Nercha Sadya, the ritual meal in which the pilgrims from different parts of the country partake.It sia rranged in the parish church.


There are facilities for meditation and retreat at Kurisumudy. The hilltop offers a perfect environment for it.


Facilities for Penitential services and confessions are offered both at the hilltop and in the parish church. A Good confession is a special way to holiness. Long queue for confession is a usual seen at the hilltop.


These facilities are offered at the parish church as well as at the hilltop and skilled personnel are made available on a regular basis for the benefit of the pilgrims at the shrine.


The shrine entertains requests lor prayers made through the shrine's website and guidance bureau.


The novena to St. Thomas is recited both in Malayattoor parish church and at Kurisumudy. In the parish church novena is solemnly celebrated before and after the mass on Thursdays. In the hilltop church it is prayerfully done after the mass on every day.
